Ballancy oratory

Dedicated to the Holy Virgin this oratory is situated above the Ballancy Chapel at the crossing of 4 paths: from la Frasse to Balme and from Araches to the 'Green Cross' in La Frasse.

Balme Caves

To be seen only with a guide ! From the entrance, great view on the Arve Valley. A door closes the entrance. A lot of marvellous natural sculptures can be discovered: "Salle des Cloches" or "Salle du Voile de la Mariée"...

Les Carroz Church

A modern church built in 1972. Sculptures and paintings from local savoyard artists. 4 bells have been installed in 1975

Oratory Cross

A granite cross from 1895. It has an original form. An angel's head is set at the cross basis. A virgin statue can be seen. On the road to Flaine near "Le Garage du Ski" ski shop

Airon Pasture

The cows start their summer season in June until September in the Airon mountain pastures. Cheese are produced and sold

La Kédeuze view

From the top of the Kédeuze gondola, discover a panoramic view: over the Les Carroz village, Cluses, the 'Mole' and 'Pic du Marcelly' in the Arve Valley, the Mont-Blanc raising in between the Grand Massif mountains, the '4 Tetes', the 'Pointe d'Areu'...

View on the Pointe d'Areu

In the centre of Les Carroz, discover the Pointe d'Areu one summit of the Aravis mountains: 2478 m, at the north end of the chain. See the magnificence of the view.

Come and see the farm from 9:30 am to 2pm it is possible to see the cheese production.

Le Serveray Bread Oven

This old oven was used to bake bread in the old times. Built near the road everyone can admire it. At the beginning of May a local association organises "La Fete du Pain" a bread feast which is baked in this stone oven.

Airon Lake

A small mountain lake at 1500m altitude. Trouts and lake's fishes. A typical savoyard farm is settled in the area all summer.

Original because the church and the presbytery are in the same house.

Organ

Recently renewed, the La Frasse organ built in 1822 is settled in the church. Regurlarly, visits and concerts are organised.

Built in 1787, this church had formerly beautiful paintings hidden in 1953.

"Epine" old coal mine

Starting around 1750 a coal mine has been re-opened in 1940 on the way to the hamlet La Colonnaz. The mine is closed since 1950. Its history is written in a small guide from Pierre Lacroix and ordered by the club 'Pour la Mémoire du Futur' .
